How to use a USB cam that is not on your 'abelcam pc' ?

Hello AbelCam'ers,

This is my layout ( I edited the layout of a fellow AbelCAM user ).

What software/abelcam version should I install on PC2 to make it work ?
Is there also a guide how to configure this situation ? Does PTZ work also on Camera 2 ?
Both cams are Logitech Quickcam Sphere AF's.

It does all work perfectly ( after deleting the settings and reconfiguring everything ), except the zoom of the IP PTZ / Virtual Control.
Basicly it zooms in after moving the camera position. After 1 min it goes back to it's stored position. Then the zoom is returned to 1, like I want it.
I guess there's something wrong with the PTZ control through IP.

If you want me to track this, send me all details as outlined here for both computers.
Please make sure their time is set correctly. For analysis I'll have to merge the log files.

You've got mail :-).

This is the new updated layout:

Camera 1 and 2 are working fine, it's cam 3 that has some PTZ problems.

Now 2 out of 3 are working fine :-) ! I bought a pro license with 2 extra cam licenses. Now I need to get the 3rd one running.

Now I can connect to all 3 of your cams just fine.

"Gang - Boven" and "Bureau Philippe - Tafelblad" appear to be working correctly. I was able to view them and move the PTZ just fine.

"Slaapkamer Philippe" was in a totally dark place. There was clearly a working camera connected (I could see some CCD noise moving) but I could not really test it because I couldn't see anything in the dark.

Hey Melvin,

The funny thing is that it does PTZ, but zoomed in 2x or sometimes 4x.
What works if you click 0,0 ( home ), then the zoom is set at 1x.
When you do a other PTZ pos, you'll see that the zoom automatically jumps to 2x.
The light in the 'gang' is always on so you can see something when I'm sleeping haha.
P.S.: Gang Boven = Hallway Upstairs Tongue / Slaapkamer = bedroom

Okay, I saw the problem happen on the bedroom cam. This looks to me like there is some kind of disagreement between Zoom Range settings on the AbelCam that is acting as web server versus the AbelCam the camera is connected to. Start out simple: make Zoom Max = 2 and Zoom Min = 1 in all places.

Here are screen shots. Note that Orbit Desk and Orbit Cat Tree are 2 different names for the same camera - rather careless of me.

I think it's working now :-).
Btw Melvin, I have on both pc's the zoom min and max values, also on both pc's I have the checkbox "Use Driver Zoom".

Anyway, what did I do to solve this...
On the 'Physical machine' ( PC2 in my case ) I used '1' as min and max value for the zoom. On the webserver PC I checked 'driver zoom', now it all works fine I think Cheesy !

Both pc's are running W7 64-bit and the latest driver from Logitech for the Quickcam Sphere AF.
Now I'm planning to add some outdoor IP cams Frin.

Hmmm. I'm glad you got it working, but those settings sound weird. I think you discovered a bug of some sort and a way to work around it! Wink
