Couple of things...

Previous version would not recognize my orbit anymore, so it was put on back burner. Installed 096 this morning, and it picked up the orbit right away. However, I now have 2 problems I did not have before:

1) cannot move the camera. Even tho the applet shows the red dot as moving, and the "log" on screen shows the position changing, it is not physically moving the camera. If I move it with the control panel that came with the orbit, it's moving just fine. I uninstalled, reinstalled both logisphere and the logitech stuff, same result. Cold boot, warm boot, unplugged power, camera, etc... still no go.

2) When shutting down logisphere, although it disappear from the screen, it's still running (ctrl-alt-del still shows it there). This was reported earlier for a previous version. I did not have that problem on the previous versions, but I do now.

Also, the lazycam new option... I deselect it, save settings, exit logisphere, when i return, the option is selected again. So I guess it's a non-optional option Smile

Cheers!

Further to the above... the lazycam option now seems to work properly. Still can't control the camera through the program tho, either locally or remotely. I'm not sure if the "debug" information can be of any use, but there's a few error messages in there... here it is in case it helps.. (and if I should put that in a different forum, sorry, couldn't figure out where it should go...)

I cannot find anything unusual in the log file - other than the 10s it took for the cam driver to get ready.

Try renaming config.txt and start with the default values.

Tried that... no luck, I still can't move the camera around from within LogiSphere, or from the webpage.

Hi ! I'm having some trouble with the jave/motionreplay. Its awfull slow to load on my computer, could it be because there are nearly 83000 files in the same directory as the local save ? Undecided

I wonder if this could be solved in logipshere, say it automatically archives into sub directories (with some kind of name) files > 48 hours old.
This would mean in the directory there are always plenty of files for the motionreplay to work with. Unless they were all put in subdirectories
and the program had to work out where the last "n" files resided for playback.. May be tricky

Was there any news on a selected playback feature ? (Say last 100, 200, or dates.. ?

BTW, the server-admin page "status" reads for "video server" mms://<machine ip>:myport:8090

I can't fault it so far Sad but will be making my own page for the cam soon, promise..

<<<<<<<please see end of this post for yet another update>>>>>>>>>>

Update to my above issue... I thought I might have found something, but doesn't look like it...

I looked in the registry, and found out that I had 2 entries for the PTZ... one called Logitech Quickcam PTZ and the other one called Logitech Quickcam PTZ #2. However, in Logisphere, when selecting the ptz device, the only one listed was Logitech Quickcam PTZ #1.

So I figured, it might have something to do with that. I uninstalled everything camera related (including Logisphere, and deleted the folder as well), went through the entire registry and deleted all entries delated to the camera, rebooted, reinstalled the quickcam software/driver as per the manufacturers instructions. Went through the registry again, and now, I don't have any #, I only have PTZ entries.

I reinstalled LogiSphere, and I'm back to the same problem. Here's a question however... in the PTZ device section, why would it say #1 when there's no #1 entries in the registry? Could this be part of my problem?

Thank you,

Real

<<<<<<<<<<UPDATE!!! IT'S WORKING!!>>>>>>>>>>>>

Ok, so after some more messing around, I got it to work... As you probably know, there are tons of entries related to the orbit in the registry... And I compared with what is in the logisphere config.txt, and here's what I came up with... original entry was:

TiltPanDevice = \\?\usb#vid_046d&pid_08b5&mi_01#6&32c54ae4&1&0001#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\global

I changed it to

TiltPanDevice = \\?\usb#vid_046d&pid_08b5&mi_00#6&32c54ae4&1&0000#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\global

And now it's working... (changed 1 for 0 in 2 spots... )

Not sure what that means exactly, but it might be something to look into.

thank you,

Real

Hi Real,

I am glad you got it to work.

I figured out, that HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VfWWDM Mapper contains the active devices.

Is your device listed under that key?

Here's a question however... in the PTZ device section, why would it say #1 when there's no #1 entries in the registry? Could this be part of my problem?

LogiSphere just numbers all the potential candidates, starting with number one. the #1 in the display has nothing to do with what you
find in the registry.

Having no support from Logitech, it's not easy to find out which device entries are active and which ones are obsolete...

Yes, Windows is very slow reading in lots of files from one directory.

I will add a filter to motion.mjpeg, see next version

Yes, my device is listed at that location. Just for the fun of it, I "re-selected" my device under logisphere, and saved the settings.. I was unable to move the camera, as it had reversed the "0" for "1" in the config file... I'm puzzled.. .under that registry entry you asked about, there's only one device listed, with "0"... so I'm really not sure what's happening...

Thank you!! Other than that small inconvenience, I'm in love with the program!! Smile
