Losing wwwroot with Upgrade

Hi SSE.

Got the 4.2.4 upgrade, thanks.

I've noticed that during each upgrade process the wwwroot directory gets clobbered. I've put considerable effort into customizing the html, so I've learned (the hard way) that it's important to back this directory up and restore after the upgrade.

But I'm curious, is it actually necessary to rewrite this directory? Or could you add an option to allow it to be preserved?

Thanks,

Scott.

Hello Scott

just read the Help on the Data Directory or
look around in the forum ( Topics 4820 2843 and older ones ) and you'll find the recommended way to preserve your edited web pages.

On Windows Vista and newer versions of Windows, editing files in the program folder structure requires administrator privileges, so it's probably easier to copy the entire folder to a different place of your choice.

Also, you may choose to exclude the web server content when installing AbelCam, but if anything changes in there ( eg. samples for new features ), you are going to miss those.
The installation is necessary for the first installation and may be omitted when upgrading.
